What is SHIIP?
The Seniors’ Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) is a free service from the North Carolina Department of Insurance.
We help answer questions about:

  • Medicare

  • Medicare Part D (prescriptions)

  • Medicare Supplement plans

  • Medicare Advantage plans

  • Long-term care insurance

We also help you spot and prevent Medicare billing errors, fraud, and abuse through the NC Senior Medicare Patrol (NCSMP) program.
